(Job 8:22 KJV)
They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame;
and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.
(Psa 35:26-27 KJV)
Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice
at mine hurt:
let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves
against me.
{27} Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous
cause:
yea, let them say continually,
Let the LORD be magnified,
which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
(Psa 109:28-31 KJV)
Let them curse, but bless thou: when they arise, let them be
ashamed;
but let thy servant rejoice.
{29} Let mine adversaries be clothed with shame,
and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with
a mantle.
{30} I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth;
yea, I will praise him among the multitude.
{31} For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor,
to save him from those that condemn his soul.
(1 Pet 5:5-11 KJV)
Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder.
Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with
humility:
for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
{6} Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God,
that he may exalt you in due time:
{7} Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
{8} Be sober, be vigilant;
because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh
about,
seeking whom he may devour:
{9} Whom(the devil) resist stedfast in the faith,
knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren
that are in the world.
{10} But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal
glory by Christ Jesus,
after that ye have suffered a while,
make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
{11} To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
(Job 8:20 KJV)
Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man,
neither will he help the evil doers:
(Job 20:4-15 KJV)
Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth,
{5} That the triumphing of the wicked is short,
and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?
{6} Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head
reach unto the clouds;
{7} Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung:
they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?
{8} He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found:
yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.
{9} The eye also which saw him shall see him no more;
neither shall his place any more behold him.
{10} His children shall seek to please the poor, and his hands
shall restore their goods.
{11} His bones are full of the sin of his youth, which shall
lie down with him in the dust.
{12} Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, though he hide
it under his tongue;
{13} Though he spare it, and forsake it not; but keep it still
within his mouth:
{14} Yet his meat in his bowels is turned(putrid), it is the
gall of asps within him.
{15} He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up
again:
God shall cast them out of his belly.
(Psa 37:7-20 KJV)
Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him:
fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way,
because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
{8} Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in
any wise to do evil.
{9} For evildoers shall be cut off:
but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
{10} For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be:
yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not
be.
{11} But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight
themselves in the abundance of peace.
{12} The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon
him with his teeth.
{13} The Lord shall laugh at him: for He seeth that his day is
coming.
{14} The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their
bow,
to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright
conversation.
{15} Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their
bows shall be broken.
{16} A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches
of many wicked.
{17} For the arms of the wicked shall be broken:
but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.
{18} The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance
shall be for ever.
{19} They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days
of famine they shall be satisfied.
{20} But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD
shall be as the fat of lambs:
they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
(Psa 73:22-28 KJV)
So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee.
{23} Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden
me by my right hand.
{24} Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive
me to glory.
{25} Whom have I in heaven but thee?
and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.
{26} My flesh and my heart faileth:
but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
{27} For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish:
thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.
{28} But it is good for me to draw near to God:
I have put my trust in the Lord GOD,
that I may declare all thy works.
(Psa 92 KJV)
A Psalm or Song for the sabbath day.
It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD,
and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:
{2} To show forth thy lovingkindness in the morning,
and thy faithfulness every night,
{3} Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery;
upon the harp with a solemn sound.
{4} For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work:
I will triumph in the works of thy hands.
{5} O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very
deep.
{6} A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand
this.
{7} When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers
of iniquity do flourish;
it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:
{8} But thou, LORD, art most high for evermore.
{9} For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall
perish;
all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.
{10} But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn:
I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
{11} Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies,
and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up
against me.
{12} The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall
grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
{13} Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish
in the courts of our God.
{14} They shall still bring forth fruit in old age;
they shall be fat and flourishing;
{15} To show that the LORD is upright: he is my rock,
and there is no unrighteousness in him.
