Joel 2:31 "The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come." What's important to remember in this discussion is that "the day of the Lord" is a thousand years which includes the Tribulation. 2 Peter 3:8 "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." The reason I believe that Scripture applies to the one day teaching in Revelation, is Revelation 18:8 "Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her." This describes a period of time in which these events occur during the Tribulation. Acts 2:20 "The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:" How Rare Are Lunar Eclipses?
Revelation 6:12 "And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;" [this time frame would be 2014-2015] The earthquake happened in Revelation 11:13 "And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven." [The remnant was hidden in the rocks to enable them to survive Armageddon] Revelation 16:19 "And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath." The Seven seals In the beginning of the Tribulation the seven seals were opened one by one to mark events during the Tribulation. Revelation 5:5 "And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof." 2 Timothy 2:19 "Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity." The four horses fit into the first 3.5 years of the Tribulation. The seven trumpets described in Revelation 8 line up with the seven seals. The first horse is white and reveals the Antichrist's arrival in disguise of a peace maker. Instead of peace world war 3 begins. The first trumpet reveals that the earth is smitten with fire burns up 33% of the trees and grass. Revelation 6:3 "And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see." The second trumpet reveals a mountian cast into the sea turns 1/3 of it into blood and 33% of the ships are destroyed and 1/3 of the fish die. This also represents the second horse which is red and has the power to take peace: Revelation 6:6. Revelation 4:7 "And
the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a
calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth
beast was like a flying eagle." Revelation 6:5 "And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand." Prior to the Mark, the Black Horse is described in Revelation 6:5 "And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand." Depression ensues with the black horse: Hosea 12:7 "He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loveth to oppress." The third trumpet brings contamination of 1/3 of the water and rivers due to a great star falling from heaven Revelation 6:7 "And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see." The fourth trumpet reveals that the sun, moon and stars are darkened throughout 33% of the day and night. The pale horse comes on the szene ".. the name that sat on him was death and hell followed him." Revelation 6:8 There is war in heaven between the archangel Michael and Satan. Satan, the dragon spirit, is permanently cast down to earth. He enters Antichrist who reigns the world independent of God for a short time. The First Beast is obviously the Antichrist himself who comes in disguise on the white horse at the beginning of the Tribulation. He is represented by the constellation of Leo, The Lion is king of the animal kingdom. The False Prophet who persuedes people to take the mark is described in the Bible in Revelation 13:12 "And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed." After the Mark offer, 3.5 years into the Tribulation, those who did not take the Mark are beheaded by Antichrist. They are the Tribulation saints. Revelation 7:14 "And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb." Revelation 6:9 "And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:" Revelation 9:1 "And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit." All the demons were released. Revelation 6:12 "And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;" Revelation 7:2 "And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea," Revelation 9:18 "By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths." Revelation 8:1 "And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour." Peace before the storm: Armageddon happens next John 16:33 "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." Editer Rita Williams, Cephas Ministry |
