Abraham was born 1948 years after Adam.Some has misunderstood this and dated Abraham`s birth to the year when Terah was 130. They have thought Abraham was 75 years old when Terah died at the age of 205.The book of Jasher tells in details about the events at the time of Abraham. http://www.ccel.org/a/anonymous/jasher/7.htm
It says:"..and Terah was thirty-eight years old ,and he begat Haran and Nahor". 7:22
"Terah was seventy years old when he begat him,and Terah called the name of his son that was born to him Abram".. 7:51

"And this I say that the covenant,that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law,which was 430 years after,cannot disannual,that it should make the promise of none effect".Galations 3:17

God made a covenant with Abram when he was 99 years old. In Genesis 17:1 it says:
"And when Abram was 99 years old, the Lord appeared to Abram,and said unto him,I am Almighty God;walk before me,and be thou perfect.
2:And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.
3:And Abram fell on his face; and God talked with him, saying:
4:As for me,behold,my covenant is with thee,and thou shalt be a father of many nations.
7:And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in the generations for an everlasting covenant,to be a God unto thee, and thy seed after thee".
"And Abraham was 99 years old ,when he was circumcised in the flesh of his forskin" v. 24.He got his name changed from Abram to Abraham.

The Acts says:"And he gave him the covenant of circumcision; and so Abraham begat Isaac.." Acts 7:8

“Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius.......Jesus was baptized”
Read Luke 3:1-21
Jesus became Messiah in the 15 th year of Tiberius. That is 4000 years after Creation .
6000 years from Adam will be about 2028 – about 25 years in future.


Aside from the fact that it will soon have past 6000 years from Adam,we have internal Biblical evidence which suggests strongly that God is indeed working out a 6000 years plan on this earth.

In II Kings we read the story of Joash, who was the rightful king of Israel,but who was hidden from view for six years, while an impostor reigned (Queen Athaliah). Athaliah is a picture of Satan the devil, the great usur. Notice the story and its Messianic implications:
“ And he was with (his nurse) hid in the house of the Lord (a type of heaven) SIX YEARS. And Athaliah did reign over the land.And the SEVENTH YEAR Jehoiadah sent and fetched the rulers over hundreds,with the captains an dthe guard, and brought them unto him in the house of the Lord,and made a covenant with them... and shewed them the king`s son.. And he brought forth the king`s son, and put the crown upon him, and gave him the testimony, and they made him king, and anointed him; and they clapped their hands and said: God save the king” .(II Kings 11: 3-12)

God created the heaven and earth in six days and rested on the seventh day.
This is a picture of the 6000 years which will be follow by the 1000 years reign.
“...but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years”. Rev. 20:4

Hebrews in chapter 4 says:
“For we which have believed do enter into the rest,as he said,As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall eneter into my rest:although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.For he spake in a certain place of the SEVENTH DAY on this wise,And God did rest the seventh day from his works.And in this place again. If they shall enter into my rest.Seeing therfore it REMAINETH that some must enter therein..
again he limiteth a certain day..Hebrews 4
“Thousand years is as a day”.(II Pet 3:8-9)

Noah was 600 years old when the flood came. “But as the days of Noah were..”.Matt.24:37

The Jubilee is every 50 years. There will pass 120 Jubilees from Creation.

“ And the Lord said,My spirit shall not always strive with man,for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years”.Genesis 6:3

Moses died before entering the promised land at an age of 120 years old.
Isaac was 40 years when he married ,and 60 when he got children.
“And after SIX DAYS Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, and was transfigureed befor them; and his face shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light” Matt.17:1-2

The story of Absalom also has Messianic insights.Absalom, whose name means” Father of peace” was a rebel and adversary against david,a type of Christ. The story begins with the temptor encouraging Amnon, another of David`s sons, to seduce and rape his sister Tamar. This seduction reminds us of the temptation and fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.Amnon,then is a type of Adam. Amon sins,setting in motion a series of events that concludes seven years later.
Absalam,Tamar`s brother, kills Amnon two years later( II Sam.13:23-29), and flees for his life to another kingdom,and remains there three years (v.37-38) David longs for the restoration of his son, but Absalom feigns repentance, and when he is allowed to return to Jerusalem, dwelling there two years, he plots to take over the kingdom at the beginning of yhe seventh year.(II Sam.14,25-28)
Absalom is a type of Antichrist,who will fight Christ at His return to retake His Kingdom.The story ends with Absalom beeing killed and David,after fleeing for his life,being restored as King.Again notice that the story is a seven year story.

The Epistle of Barnabas,written about 200 A.D., actually expounded on the concept of the 7000- year plan of Go,stating that the “end” would occur at the point ogf 6000 years from the creation of mankind.States this ancient document of the early church period:
“of the sabbath He speaketh in the beginning of the creation; `And God made the works of his hands in six days and He ended on the seventh day,and rested on it,and He hallowed it.`Give heed,children,what this meaneth,`He ended in six days` He meaneth this,that IN SIX THOUSAND YEARS THE LORD SHALL BRING ALL THINGS TO AND END,for the day with Him signifieth a thousand years;and this He himself beareth me witness,saying,`behold,the day of the Lord shall be as a THOUSAND YEARS.`
Therefore,children,in six days,that is IN SIX THOUSAND YEARS,EVERYTHING SHALL COME TO AN END`.And He rested on the seventh day`. This he meaneth; when His Son shall come,and shall abolish the time of the Lawless One,and shall judge the ungodly,and shall change the sun and the moon and the stars,then shall He truly rest on the seventh day”.(Epistles of Barnabus,chap.15 The Apostolic Fathers,pp.151-152)
